Position Overview
Science Coordinator Teacher in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a full-time Education role for an experienced teacher with strong Science subject knowledge, British Curriculum exposure, and proven UAE school experience in a similar coordination or teaching role. This position is suitable for an immediately available educator who can support Science curriculum delivery, coordinate departmental planning, guide teaching standards, and contribute to improved student learning outcomes.
Role Context
The Science Coordinator Teacher will support the planning, delivery, monitoring, and improvement of Science teaching across the school. The role requires a strong academic background in Science, a mandatory B.Ed. qualification, UAE school experience, and the ability to work with teachers, students, and school leadership to maintain high curriculum standards. The successful candidate will help strengthen classroom practice, assessment quality, resource planning, student progress tracking, and Science department performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Science lessons effectively in line with school curriculum standards and student learning needs.
* Coordinate Science curriculum planning, lesson preparation, assessment schedules, and departmental teaching resources.
* Support teachers in delivering engaging, practical, and concept-based Science lessons.
* Monitor student progress and help identify areas for academic improvement.
* Assist in planning assessments, reviewing student performance data, and supporting targeted intervention strategies.
* Promote inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, scientific investigation, problem-solving, and practical application of Science concepts.
* Ensure Science teaching aligns with British Curriculum expectations where applicable.
* Support the development of schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
* Maintain high standards of classroom management, student engagement, and academic discipline.
* Coordinate with school leadership and faculty members to improve Science department outcomes.
* Support laboratory-based learning, safe practical activities, and effective use of Science resources.
* Encourage students to develop curiosity, observation skills, analytical thinking, and confidence in Science learning.
* Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, professional development, and school improvement activities.
* Maintain accurate academic records, assessment reports, and student progress documentation.
* Follow school policies related to safeguarding, student wellbeing, health and safety, and professional conduct.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Science is required.
* B.Ed. qualification is mandatory.
* Minimum 2 years of UAE experience in a similar Science teaching or coordination role is mandatory.
* Experience in British Curriculum schools is preferred.
* Strong Science subject knowledge with the ability to teach and coordinate curriculum delivery effectively.
* Immediate availability to join is required.
* Good understanding of lesson planning, assessment practices, student progress tracking, and curriculum standards.
* Ability to support teachers and contribute to departmental improvement.
