Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring lessons that help students achieve strong academic outcomes and develop confidence in learning.
* Plan and prepare classroom sessions that
* Organise classroom resources, displays, and learning areas to create a positive and engaging environment.
* Work with fellow teachers to design lessons, share resources, and strengthen curriculum delivery.
* Build constructive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
* Use classroom observations and assessment information to monitor progress and improve future planning.
* Record student development using school assessment systems such as Target Tracker.
* Provide clear feedback to parents and carers during meetings, conferences, and regular school communication.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy while promoting respect, independence, and self-control.
* Support students through enthusiastic, imaginative, and inclusive teaching methods.
* Liaise with curriculum support staff and specialists such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, or educational psychologists when needed.
* Participate in curriculum action groups, school events, outings, and wider professional activities.
* Communicate student achievements and wellbeing updates through school systems such as CPOMS where required.
* Run a weekly extra-curricular activity each term and contribute positively to school life.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
* Previous teaching experience in a primary school or US Curriculum environment is preferred.
* Clear understanding of curriculum planning, classroom delivery, assessment, and student progress tracking.
* Ability to teach mixed-ability learners using inclusive and engaging classroom methods.
* Strong communication skills with students, parents, teachers, and school leaders.
* Professional approach to behaviour management, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.
* Positive, flexible, and collaborative attitude toward school improvement and team planning.
* Confidence in using assessment data to guide lesson planning, intervention, and classroom support.
* Willingness to support extra-curricular activities, school events, and wider community initiatives.
