The Social Worker - Student Counselling is responsible for supporting students’ emotional, social, and academic development by providing counselling services, behavioural guidance, and intervention strategies. This role works closely with parents, teachers, and school leadership to create a safe and supportive environment where students can grow with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students in improving personal, social, and academic development
* Monitor student progress and identify behavioural or emotional concerns early
* Communicate with parents regarding student behaviour and well-being
* Take preventive action against bullying and provide support for affected students
* Help students manage personal, social, and behavioural challenges through structured counselling
* Deliver preventive and developmental counselling to build life skills and emotional resilience
* Identify family-related concerns such as domestic issues and coordinate proper referrals
* Conduct group counselling sessions for academic and behavioural intervention
* Support classroom and small-group guidance programmes for student development
* Coordinate with counsellors on career guidance and help students explore academic and career pathways
* Maintain student counselling records and career-related information resources
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Science or Education in Social Work is required
* Minimum 1 year of experience in school counselling or related counselling roles
* Appropriate professional license to carry out student counselling services
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and parents
* Excellent organizational and case management abilities
* Strong desire to support young people and student development
* Ability to inspire trust, confidence, and emotional safety for students
* High emotional resilience and professional maturity in handling sensitive situations
