The Teacher - Chemistry Education is responsible for delivering structured and engaging chemistry lessons that support students across a wide ability range. This role combines strong subject expertise, effective assessment strategies, and active participation in school life to ensure students achieve strong academic outcomes and develop critical scientific understanding.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality chemistry lessons aligned with school teaching and learning policies
* Create a positive classroom environment that supports engagement, discipline, and academic focus
* Set clear learning objectives and targets based on prior student attainment
* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of SEN, EAL, and gifted students
* Use ICT and digital tools to enhance learning and improve student progress
* Assess, record, and monitor student progress using performance data and school systems
* Mark student work regularly and provide feedback to support academic development
* Prepare and present progress reports to parents and participate in school events
* Contribute to curriculum development by reviewing and updating schemes of work
* Support CAS programmes and lead or participate in after-school activities
* Act as Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for senior students
* Participate in staff duties, examination invigilation, and cover for absent colleagues
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
* Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a school environment
* Experience teaching IGCSE and IB Chemistry programmes
* Strong classroom management and ability to teach across a wide ability range
* Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations is preferred
* Commitment to the IB philosophy and international education standards
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage challenging classroom situations
* Continuous commitment to professional development and CPD
* Valid enhanced DBS check or police clearance required
