Role Context
The Teacher - English plays a key role in shaping student communication, language mastery, and analytical thinking through engaging and high-quality teaching. This position supports academic progress, pastoral care, and personal development while helping students achieve strong outcomes across Middle and Senior School within a leading British curriculum school.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging English lessons that inspire students to achieve strong academic outcomes
* Plan and prepare lessons aligned with the British curriculum and school teaching standards
* Create an interactive classroom environment that encourages participation, confidence, and critical thinking
* Organise classroom resources, learning materials, and displays that support effective teaching and student engagement
* Teach across a wide ability range using differentiated learning strategies for individual student success
* Assess student progress regularly and use academic data to improve lesson planning and intervention strategies
* Provide regular feedback to parents and carers during Parent Teacher Conferences and school meetings
* Act as a form tutor and support the pastoral development and wellbeing of students
* Maintain excellent classroom discipline in line with behaviour management and safeguarding policies
* Contribute to department planning, school events, extracurricular activities, and weekly ECA programmes
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience within the English National Curriculum
* Strong experience teaching English across multiple age groups with proven success
* Previous experience working in international schools is desirable
* Clear understanding of the UK National Curriculum and assessment practices
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong classroom management and positive behaviour support abilities
* Passion for education and belief in the potential of every student
* Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and remain resilient
