The Teacher of Further Mathematics - A Level is responsible for delivering engaging and challenging mathematics lessons that help students achieve outstanding academic results. This position supports curriculum excellence through strong lesson planning, differentiated teaching, student assessment, and active contribution to the wider academic life of the school.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist Further Mathematics lessons for GCSE and A Level students with clear academic targets
* Create a learning environment that supports outstanding teaching and student achievement
* Identify clear lesson objectives and use effective assessment methods to track progress
* Plan differentiated learning activities for SEN, gifted, and high-achieving students
* Use performance data and key indicators to guide lesson planning and intervention strategies
* Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour, punctuality, and student engagement
* Apply a variety of teaching methods to improve understanding and independent learning
* Assess, record, and monitor student progress while setting clear development targets
* Prepare reports and communicate student progress effectively with parents and school leadership
* Participate in academy events, open evenings, consultations, and wider school initiatives
* Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement planning
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Education or another relevant field with a recognised teaching qualification
* Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Mathematics up to GCSE and A Level
* Strong subject knowledge in Further Mathematics and advanced secondary curriculum delivery
* Previous experience working with students where English is not their first language
* Passion for teaching and commitment to whole-child education
* Professional attitude with strong safeguarding awareness and student well-being focus
* Positive, solution-focused mindset with excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Valid enhanced DBS check or police clearance required
