Role Context
The Teacher - Physical Education plays an important role in promoting student fitness, teamwork, discipline, and confidence through high-quality teaching and structured physical development. This position supports both academic and personal growth by creating engaging learning experiences that encourage healthy lifestyles, leadership, and strong student participation across the school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver outstanding Physical Education lessons aligned with the school’s Teaching and Learning Policy
* Create a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes participation, challenge, and student success
* Set clear teaching objectives and measurable student progress targets based on prior attainment
* Identify SEN, POD, EAL, and gifted students and apply differentiated teaching strategies to support learning
* Use assessment for learning and performance data to improve lesson planning and student outcomes
* Integrate ICT and innovative teaching methods to enhance engagement and physical learning experiences
* Maintain discipline in line with the Behaviour for Learning Policy and promote high standards of punctuality and conduct
* Assess, record, and report student progress accurately while preparing informative reports for parents
* Support parent and student events, after-school CAS activities, and extracurricular sports programmes
* Act as Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12 and Year 13 students where required
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification
* Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role
* Proven success teaching across different student ability levels
* Experience working in more than one international school environment
* Experience teaching IB and I/GCSE curriculum is highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations
* Commitment to the school’s vision, IB Philosophy, and mission statement
* Passion for education and belief in the potential of every student
* Strong resilience, problem-solving ability, and professional judgement under pressure
* Clean enhanced police clearance or Disclosure and Barring Services check
