Role Context
The Teacher - Physical Education plays an important role in helping students develop healthy lifestyles, discipline, teamwork, and personal confidence through structured physical learning experiences. This position supports both academic and personal development by delivering engaging PE lessons while encouraging participation, leadership, and strong student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring Physical Education lessons that help students achieve strong academic and personal development outcomes
* Plan and prepare engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and school teaching objectives
* Organise classroom and sports learning resources to create a positive and active learning environment
* Teach students across different ability levels using effective differentiation strategies and inclusive learning methods
* Motivate students through enthusiastic, imaginative, and student-focused teaching approaches
* Observe and assess student progress regularly in line with school assessment systems
* Maintain accurate student development records using Target Tracker and academic reporting systems
* Use assessment data to improve lesson planning, intervention strategies, and student outcomes
* Maintain strong relationships with students and apply effective behaviour management in line with school policy
* Be a positive role model while contributing to extracurricular activities and wider school sporting programmes
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification
* Minimum 1 to 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role
* Previous experience working with students where English is not their first language
* Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular and sports-related activities
* Strong passion for teaching and commitment to student wellbeing and development
* Professional attitude with strong focus on safeguarding and positive behaviour management
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues
* Respect for diversity and strong ability to work within multicultural school environments
* Positive and solution-focused attitude toward teaching and teamwork
* Clean enhanced police clearance or Disclosure and Barring Services check
