Role Context
The Teaching Assistant - Classroom Support will work across different year groups to help teachers deliver effective lessons
Key Responsibilities
* Assist teachers during lessons across British curriculum classrooms.
* Provide practical learning support to students between 3 and 12 years of age.
* Help students understand instructions and complete assigned classroom activities.
* Work with individuals and small groups requiring additional guidance.
* Support reading groups and encourage confidence, fluency and comprehension.
* Prepare classroom materials, learning resources and equipment before lessons.
* Arrange classroom spaces according to the requirements of each activity.
* Help maintain orderly, welcoming and age-appropriate learning environments.
* Escort children safely between classrooms and other school facilities.
* Supervise students during classroom transitions and scheduled activities.
* Participate in break duties and support safe student behaviour.
* Reinforce classroom routines and teacher expectations consistently.
* Observe student participation and communicate relevant concerns to the class teacher.
* Support children with basic literacy and numeracy activities.
* Assist with the use of computers and digital classroom resources.
* Help organise books, stationery, displays and teaching materials.
* Encourage students to participate respectfully in individual and group work.
* Promote positive relationships and inclusive behaviour among students.
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety and child protection procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school matters.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants and school leaders.
* Attend relevant meetings, briefings and training sessions.
* Contribute to school events and activities when requested.
* Complete other reasonable classroom support duties assigned by school management.
Ideal Profile
* Minimum High School Diploma.
* UAE National holding a valid family book.
* Good written and spoken English.
* Ability to understand lessons delivered mainly in English.
* Good basic mathematics skills.
* Comfortable using a computer and standard digital tools.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Patient and supportive approach when working with children.
* Confidence assisting students across different age groups.
