Position Overview
Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is seeking a UAE National Teaching Assistant to support pupils across its curriculum and wider school activities. The successful candidate will work with individual students and groups while assisting teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources.
The role requires a patient, flexible and positive professional who can build strong relationships across the school community. The Teaching Assistant will encourage pupil independence while supporting learning, behaviour, wellbeing and personal organisation.

Role Context
Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is located near the Saadiyat Cultural District and operates from a purpose-built campus covering approximately seven hectares. Its broad academic curriculum is complemented by opportunities across fine arts, performing arts, music and sport.
The Teaching Assistant will collaborate with the class teacher to create effective learning experiences. Responsibilities extend beyond classroom instruction to pupil supervision, behaviour support, school trips and specialist lessons.
Key Responsibilities
Support individual pupils and groups across the school curriculum.
Reinforce learning through methods approved by the school.
Use appropriate phonics, mathematics and classroom-support strategies.
Help pupils understand instructions and complete assigned activities.
Encourage students to become confident and independent learners.
Use questioning and modelling to strengthen understanding.
Support pupils with personal organisation and hygiene when required.
Record student activities and relevant learning observations.
Report pupil progress and concerns to the class teacher.
Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
Help set up the classroom before lessons and activities.
Create displays that celebrate student work and achievement.
Assist teachers with routine classroom-administration tasks.
Build positive and respectful relationships with pupils.
Communicate with children using enthusiasm, patience and understanding.
Promote positive behaviour in accordance with school policies.
Act as a professional role model for pupils.
Supervise students during break periods and transitions.
Support pupil safety during school trips and educational visits.
Supervise students during specialist lessons and other activities.
Work closely with the class teacher on lesson preparation.
Maintain effective communication with teaching professionals.
Protect confidential student and school information.
Raise concerns about pupil wellbeing through the correct channels.
Seek guidance when additional support is required.
Participate in relevant training and professional-development activities.
Use initiative while following teacher direction and school procedures.
Remain flexible and respond positively to changing school requirements.
Contribute actively to the wider life of Cranleigh Abu Dhabi.
Follow safeguarding, child-protection and health and safety policies.
Complete other reasonable duties assigned by teachers or school leaders.
Ideal Profile
UAE National with a bachelor’s degree.
Previous experience in a school or education environment is desirable.
Ability to support pupils across different areas of the curriculum.
Understanding of positive behaviour and classroom-support practices.
Ability to build effective relationships with pupils, teachers and parents.
Patient and encouraging approach to working with children.
Ability to use initiative while following professional guidance.
Flexible, dependable and positive attitude.
