Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
* Support individual pupils inside and outside the classroom so they can participate fully in lessons, school activities, and daily routines.
* Assist with the implementation of individual
* Help monitor pupil progress, attainment, behaviour, and classroom participation under teacher and inclusion team guidance.
* Provide academic, emotional, physical, behavioural, and communication support based on each pupil’s identified needs.
* Prepare classroom materials and adapted resources that help students access or differentiate the curriculum.
* Promote student independence by teaching practical, clear, and meaningful learning strategies.
* Work closely with homeroom teachers, subject teachers, the Head of Inclusion, and specialist professionals.
* Support pupils during classroom learning, specialist lessons, trips, visits, and extra-curricular activities.
* Attend training sessions, professional meetings, and therapy-related guidance sessions when required.
* Help generalise and consolidate SaLT, OT, or ABA therapy targets through structured intervention support.
* Maintain confidentiality and follow school communication protocols regarding parents and student information.
* Support positive behaviour, self-esteem, discipline, and inclusion in line with whole-school policies.
* Assist with pupil records, progress updates, classroom routines, and student engagement.
* Mentor new inclusion assistants when required by the school leadership team.
Ideal Profile
* SEN qualification or Diploma in Special Educational Needs.
* Minimum 2 years of SEN experience in a school or student support environment.
* Practical understanding of IEP goals, inclusion strategies, differentiated learning, and student intervention support.
* Experience supporting pupils with academic, behavioural, emotional, physical, or communication needs.
* Ability to work patiently and professionally with young learners from KG1 to Grade 5.
* Strong communication skills for working with teachers, inclusion teams, therapists, and school staff.
* Respectful approach to confidentiality, safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.
* Positive attitude with a commitment to student independence, wellbeing, and inclusive education.
* Reliable professional standards in attendance, punctuality, appearance, and conduct.
* Willingness to attend training, meetings, therapy sessions, school trips, and wider school activities.
