The Vice Principal - Academic Leadership is responsible for maintaining high teaching standards, supporting student progress, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment across the school. This leadership role works closely with the Principal and senior leadership team to strengthen academic performance, improve teaching quality, and deliver measurable outcomes aligned with school goals and ADEK regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Direct and monitor daily school operations to maintain a safe, organized, and effective learning environment
* Support and manage the annual school assessment and monitoring master schedule
* Collaborate with the Principal and senior leadership team to supervise and evaluate teachers and support staff
* Lead recruitment support by screening applicants and participating in interviews for teaching and non-teaching roles
* Implement school improvement plans and student achievement strategies in line with ADEK requirements
* Oversee MAP, Exact Path, and other assessment frameworks to improve academic performance
* Establish testing schedules, reporting systems, student progress tracking, and academic data collection processes
* Support curriculum improvement by introducing effective instructional methods and learning strategies
* Assist with staff CPD planning and professional development initiatives across the school
* Ensure all reports, forms, and required documentation are completed accurately and submitted on time
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor Degree in Education or B.Sc degree with PGCE is essential
* Master’s degree is preferred for advanced academic leadership roles
* Minimum 6 years of teaching experience with strong performance history
* At least 2 years of experience in a middle leadership role within a school environment
* Proven experience leading school initiatives that improved standards and student outcomes
* Strong experience working with parents, students, and external education agencies
* Excellent leadership, confidentiality, and decision-making skills
