Role Context
Dry utility networks require close coordination among electrical infrastructure, telecommunications systems, road corridors, substations, and other project disciplines. The
Key Responsibilities
* Perform electrical design calculations for power, telecommunications, and related dry utility networks.
* Prepare engineering drawings under the direction of senior engineers.
* Support the design of high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage infrastructure.
* Develop calculations for electrical loads, voltage drop, cable sizing, and network requirements.
* Prepare material quantity take-offs and preliminary cost estimates.
* Produce design reports, technical notes, schedules, and supporting documentation.
* Apply established electrical engineering theories, codes, and company procedures.
* Use computer-aided engineering and computer-aided design tools during design development.
* Coordinate electrical services with utility corridors and other infrastructure disciplines.
* Provide technical information and clear instructions to CAD designers and drafters.
* Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, coordination, and alignment with the design intent.
* Support layouts for primary substations transforming 132 kV to 11 kV.
* Assist with high-voltage corridors, distribution substations, pocket substations, and feeder pillars.
* Contribute to medium-voltage network designs up to 33 kV and associated low-voltage systems.
* Participate in BIM coordination and model-review activities.
* Update calculations and drawings in response to interdisciplinary comments and authority requirements.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution and possess at least three years of experience designing dry utility networks.
Recent involvement in high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage electrical design is required. Candidates should understand primary substations, power corridors, distribution networks, feeder pillars, electrical calculations, and infrastructure report preparation.
Working knowledge of international standards such as the National Electrical Code, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, and IEC is important. Familiarity with Gulf authority requirements, including those of DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA, SEC, MEDC, and Civil Defense entities, is also expected.
