Role Context
The Planning Engineer plays a critical role in managing project timelines, coordinating multiple work packages, and ensuring alignment between contractors and stakeholders. This role directly impacts project performance by identifying risks, analyzing delays, and supporting data-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and validate contractor baseline schedules in line with contract requirements
* Develop integrated master schedules covering multiple project components and dependencies
* Analyze progress updates and identify potential delays or critical risks
* Perform what-if analysis to evaluate impact of changes and recommend corrective actions
* Prepare detailed progress and monthly reports with performance insights
* Assess extension of time claims and apply delay analysis methodologies
* Coordinate with contractors and clients to resolve scheduling challenges
* Monitor key milestones and ensure alignment with project objectives
* Maintain trackers and logs for monitoring design and construction activities
* Support meetings, prepare minutes, and provide planning insights to stakeholders
* Ensure accurate record keeping and issue delay notifications when required
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management
* Minimum 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling for infrastructure projects
* Strong background in utilities, roads, ITS systems, and construction coordination
* Proficiency in Primavera P6 and project scheduling tools
* Experience in delay analysis, claims evaluation, and project controls
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex project interfaces
* Strong analytical and communication skills
