Job Purpose
As a Senior Engineer, you will be the go-to expert for DCS, playing a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity of our systems in alignment with original equipment manufacturer guidelines and international standards. Your responsibilities will include analyzing operational issues, suggesting design modifications, and implementing DCS configurations to enhance plant safety and efficiency. You will also be tasked with maintaining backups, monitoring DCS systems, and driving improvements to achieve optimal system availability.
Key Accountabilities
Operation Support
- Analyze and resolve operational issues by investigating plant events and collaborating with operations engineers.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system interfaces such as ESD, F&G, IPCS, and SAP to ensure seamless operations across Borouge plants.
- Assist in root cause analysis during unexpected disturbances and develop automation solutions to enhance system reliability.
- Collect and organize alarm data to help the operations team measure and control alarm KPIs effectively.
- Provide continuous support to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
Maintenance Planning and System Improvements
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults related to DCS operator stations and controllers to maintain system integrity.
- Upgrade and replace obsolete DCS hardware and software with minimal disruption to operations.
- Perform regular system backups and restore DCS systems during failures to protect data integrity.
- Propose and implement modifications to maintain system functionality and support operational reliability.
- Reduce plant downtime caused by DCS issues to enhance overall system reliability.
Reliability Support
- Ensure DCS system security by implementing software updates and patches to protect Borouge’s assets.
- Review system diagnostics and troubleshoot issues to maintain operational integrity.
- Act as the focal point for DCS systems, ensuring that external projects adhere to Borouge requirements.
- Suggest improvements and modernization strategies for DCS infrastructure to align with technological advancements.
- Conduct obsolescence planning to prevent outdated technology issues and ensure system effectiveness.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with engineers to solve technical issues and enhance team efficiency.
- Coordinate with external engineers and vendors for major plant modifications to avoid operational disruptions.
- Participate in design workshops and testing for project validation.
- Ensure data-sharing protocols are followed during project collaborations.
Process Control
- Provide process control expertise for modifications to ensure compliance with operational standards.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum Qualification
- University degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP systems.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 8 to 12 years of experience in Instrumentation and Control for large plants, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries.
- Hands-on experience with DCS systems, including troubleshooting and modifications.
