Key Responsibilities
- Conduct testing and commissioning of fire fighting and fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Manage Civil Defense approvals and coordinate with regulatory authorities for testing and commissioning requirements
- Oversee and control maintenance work related to fire protection systems, ensuring proper functionality and system efficiency
- Document and report test results, highlighting discrepancies and recommending corrective actions to ensure compliance
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve issues during the testing phase
- Develop and implement detailed testing plans, methodologies, and protocols to ensure all fire safety systems meet performance criteria
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations during all testing and commissioning activities
- Manage and oversee the commissioning timeline, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Stay updated with industry advancements and incorporate best practices into testing methodologies
Required Skills and Experience
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Certification in fire safety and testing standards, such as NFPA, UAE Fire Code, or equivalent, is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of fire fighting and fire alarm systems
- Hands-on experience dealing with Civil Defense approvals and compliance procedures
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, NFPA standards, and UAE Civil Defense requirements
- Proficiency in testing methodologies, troubleshooting, and commissioning fire protection systems
- Experience with fire suppression systems, sprinkler systems, fire alarm panels, and emergency response systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and compliance reports
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills to ensure timely completion of testing activities
