Role Context
This senior-level position will strengthen AECOM\'s health and safety framework in Riyadh
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain occupational health and safety policies.
* Implement procedures and programs aligned with regulatory requirements.
* Maintain alignment with Saudi labor regulations and ISO 45001.
* Apply relevant OSHA principles and international safety practices.
* Conduct comprehensive workplace risk assessments.
* Perform hazard analyses across operational and project environments.
* Recommend practical controls to eliminate or reduce identified risks.
* Design and deliver safety training for employees at all levels.
* Verify employee understanding of safety procedures and responsibilities.
* Investigate workplace incidents, injuries and near-miss events.
* Conduct root-cause analyses and document investigation findings.
* Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
* Lead safety audits and regulatory compliance inspections.
* Record non-conformances and develop appropriate action plans.
* Monitor corrective actions through verified closure.
* Maintain safety data sheets and standard operating procedures.
* Develop and update emergency response plans.
* Integrate safety requirements into business processes and projects.
* Collaborate with department heads and operational teams.
* Monitor safety metrics and key performance indicators.
* Analyze performance trends and identify areas for improvement.
* Prepare reports and evidence-based recommendations for senior management.
* Track regulatory developments and industry best practices.
* Coordinate with regulatory agencies and external safety consultants.
* Promote a proactive and accountable safety culture.
Ideal Profile
* Minimum 15 years of health and safety engineering experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi occupational safety requirements.
* Strong understanding of OSHA standards and ISO 45001.
* Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment and hazard analysis.
* Proven experience developing and implementing safety programs.
* Strong background in incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
* Experience managing corrective and preventive actions.
* Proficiency with safety-management systems and related software.
* Ability to interpret safety data and develop practical recommendations.
* Strong project-management and organizational capabilities.
* Excellent written, verbal and training-delivery skills.
* Professional certification such as CSP, CIH or NEBOSH is preferred.
* Industrial, manufacturing or construction safety experience is advantageous.
* Previous safety auditing and compliance-inspection experience.
* Familiarity with ergonomics and workplace hazard controls.
* Knowledge of personal protective equipment requirements.
