Role Context
This position leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of sustainability programs across business operations and project activities. The Sustainability Manager will convert environmental and social
commitments into structured plans, measurable targets, reporting systems, and practical improvement initiatives.
The role will connect corporate leadership, project teams, supply chain partners, regulators, investors, and external stakeholders. Through reliable data analysis and effective engagement, the manager will help reduce environmental impacts, strengthen ESG performance, support regulatory readiness, and embed sustainability into organizational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain sustainability strategies aligned with corporate priorities, legal requirements, and regional development objectives.
* Translate environmental, social, and governance commitments into practical programs, milestones, and performance targets.
* Analyze ESG data and assess progress against approved key performance indicators.
* Prepare sustainability reports, management briefings, dashboards, and external communications.
* Ensure alignment with applicable local regulations, international frameworks, certification requirements, and reporting standards.
* Lead sustainability projects from initial concept through planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and closeout.
* Coordinate resources and maintain oversight of project schedules, expenditure, risks, and deliverables.
* Work with business departments to identify opportunities for reducing emissions, waste, resource consumption, and environmental impacts.
* Engage external stakeholders, consultants, suppliers, regulators, and industry partners on sustainability matters.
* Promote sustainable procurement and encourage supply chain partners to improve environmental and social practices.
* Establish monitoring systems that measure the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
* Investigate performance gaps and recommend corrective or improvement actions.
* Develop and deliver training sessions that strengthen sustainability awareness and operational capability.
* Research emerging technologies, regulatory developments, reporting practices, and regional sustainability trends.
* Support carbon footprint assessment, greenhouse gas accounting, and emissions reduction planning.
* Contribute to renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and circular economy initiatives.
* Prepare information for corporate leadership, investors, clients, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
* Maintain accurate sustainability records and ensure supporting data is complete, traceable, and suitable for assurance reviews.
* Facilitate organizational change by explaining the commercial, environmental, and social value of sustainability initiatives.
Ideal Profile
The successful candidate will bring at least 15 years of professional experience in sustainability management, environmental compliance, ESG advisory, corporate responsibility, or a related field. A proven record of developing and implementing organization-wide sustainability programs is essential.
Applicants should demonstrate strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, environmental performance metrics, reporting standards, and regulatory compliance. Experience managing budgets, multidisciplinary initiatives, senior stakeholder expectations, and complex reporting requirements is required.
Previous work in Saudi Arabia, the GCC, or the wider Middle East will be highly beneficial. Familiarity with Saudi Arabia\'s Vision 2030 sustainability agenda, carbon accounting, renewable energy, energy efficiency, supply chain sustainability, and circular economy principles is preferred.
Knowledge of ISO 14001, B Corp, or comparable sustainability and environmental certifications would strengthen an application. Candidates should also be comfortable using sustainability software, data analysis tools, and corporate reporting platforms.
