GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in engineering or facility management.
Must have three (3) or more years of experience in a supervisory role.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak the English language.
Must be able to receive clearance from ATF.
Must possess valid drivers license.
Must have a deep knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts.
Must be courteous, tactful, and objective while working to ensure that safety, quality, environmental, production and service objectives are maintained throughout the facility.
Have experience with electrical wiring: 110V, 220V, 440V, 3-phase and be able to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
Background knowledge of ISO required.
Have basic and industrial plumbing experience.
Have basic carpentry skills.
Must have a familiarity of drafting and be able to read blueprints and schematics.
Must be able to learn programmable equipment.
Have knowledge of OSHA regulations especially in regards to Lockout/Tagout, Hotwork Permit and machine guarding.
Must have understanding of the hazards of explosives materials.
Background knowledge of Military Standards helpful.
Must have a strong understanding and ability to work in Microsoft Office software programs.
JOB DUTIES:
Oversee and manage the Maintenance Department which consists of a Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Mechanics, Automation Technicians, Groundskeeper and Custodians.
Must be committed to ISO and the company's Quality Management System using process approach and risk based thinking methodologies.
Ensure reporting departments are in compliance with ISO requirements.
Ensure the Quality Policy and quality objectives are communicated to direct report employees.
Shares accountability for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
Participates in Yearly Management Review of all ISO documentation as scheduled.
Ensures reporting departments are properly staffed and are provided with all tools required to complete their job duties efficiently and safely.
Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
Ensure that duties of all reporting departments are performed in an efficient and timely manner.
Plan the functionality of buildings, ensuring proper design and installation of mechanical and electrical systems in coordination with the Safety & Training Department.
Prepare written project plans which include budgets, staffing, schedules, coordination and other pertinent project information.
Provide expertise on matters relating to industry requirements, equipment application, established standards and regulations.
Modify existing equipment and systems for the purpose of improving efficiency, safety, reliability, capacity and cost effectiveness.
Perform inspections and surveillance of outside contractor work when related to maintaining facilities equipment/building systems.
Analyze equipment issues and/or failures to determine root cause and identify changes required to prevent recurrence.
Inspect buildings and facilities infrastructure to ascertain their condition and state of readiness. Support this effort by documenting the condition, deficiencies, recommendations and estimated cost of repair.
Write necessary procedures for maintenance work on equipment.
Direct and control equipment rebuilding activities. Review the rebuilding if project completed by internal personnel.
Contact other vendors for problems that exceed the capacity of Maintenance Department.
Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose routine and non-routine problems.
Review failed machinery to determine cause of failure and assign appropriate personnel to repair.
Co-ordinate with Safety & Training Department for all scheduled preventive maintenance.
Follow established procedures and schedules for Maintenance Requests.
Ensure that all activities of reporting departments in the facility are appropriately carried out.
Comply with all safety norms and regulations set by the industry.
Order new equipment as needed and /or have equipment repaired.
File required documentation for the procurement of equipment and spare or replacement parts with the Purchasing Department.
Report to Director of Operations any problems experienced in the Maintenance Department.
Responsible for the safety of all employees, equipment and facility. Monitor employees to ensure compliance with safety rules.
Perform periodic safety audits in order to recognize hazards that affect employee safety.
Provide training and aid to new personnel in the safe and efficient use of equipment and machinery.
Remain current on new and improved maintenance techniques and methods and ensure staff is properly trained.
Accept and aid in the installation of new equipment and the implementation of process improvements.
Establish and maintain a positive human relations climate utilizing good communication practices, expeditious handling of complaints and problems and ensuring consistency and fair treatment of all employees in assigned departments.
