Role Context
The Hygiene Helper will
support GMG\'s daily facility operations by keeping assigned areas clean, orderly, and properly supplied. Consistent hygiene standards are essential for protecting employee and customer well-being, supporting safe business operations, and maintaining the professional appearance of retail, office, and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, corridors, common areas, and designated operational spaces.
* Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces according to the assigned cleaning schedule.
* Use approved cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and correctly.
* Restock restroom supplies such as soap, tissues, and other hygiene materials.
* Collect, separate, and dispose of general waste and recyclable materials using approved procedures.
* Monitor cleaning stock levels and inform the supervisor when supplies need replenishment.
* Store cleaning chemicals and equipment securely after use.
* Follow company hygiene, sanitation, environmental, and occupational safety requirements.
* Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment while carrying out cleaning activities.
* Identify and report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, spills, or safety hazards without delay.
* Respond to additional cleaning requirements during busy operating periods.
* Coordinate with colleagues and supervisors to maintain consistently clean and welcoming facilities.
Ideal Profile
* Previous experience as a cleaner, hygiene helper, housekeeping attendant, or facility cleaning worker is preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify areas requiring immediate cleaning.
* Basic written and spoken English communication skills.
* Understanding of safe cleaning practices and correct chemical handling is advantageous.
* Ability to follow instructions, schedules, and workplace hygiene procedures.
* Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting light supplies, and completing repetitive cleaning duties.
* Reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a facilities support team.
