Role Summary
The Baker at voco Dubai The Palm will be responsible for preparing and producing high-quality bakery products including bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods in line with the property’s culinary standards. This role requires technical skill, creativity, and strict adherence to hygiene and food safety regulations while working collaboratively within the kitchen team.
What You’ll Do
* Prepare a range of bakery products including bread, rolls, pastries, muffins, and cakes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines
* Follow production schedules to ensure timely delivery of baked goods to all service areas
* Maintain portion control and quality standards in all bakery items
* Store ingredients and baked products according to proper food safety and hygiene procedures
* Monitor stock levels, assist in food ordering, and control wastage
* Comply with HACCP guidelines and ensure cleanliness of workstations and equipment
* Work closely with the Sous Chef/Chef de Partie to maintain consistency and innovation in bakery offerings
* Train and support junior staff in bakery techniques and operational standards
* Attend required training sessions related to HACCP, food safety, and on-the-job skills
Ideal Profile
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a bakery kitchen, with at least 1 year in a similar position
* Strong knowledge of bakery and pastry production methods
* Proven understanding and application of HACCP procedures
* Good operational, practical, and administrative skills
* Team-oriented with flexibility to handle diverse kitchen tasks
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
