WHAT IS THE ROLE OF SALES AT GENERAL MILLS?
The North America Foodservice (NAF) Business Segment competes in the growing away-from-home food market in the U.S., with $2 billion in annual net sales.
Our mission is \"Creating Growth Away-From-Home Together\" for operators in diverse channels - including K-12 schools, colleges & universities, restaurants, bakeries, pizzerias, hospitals, hotels, senior living facilities and convenience stores.
Some of our biggest individual customers include foodservice distributors such as Sysco, US Foods and McLane, restaurant chains like Pizza Hut, McDonald\'s, and KFC, and non-commercial accounts like Compass and Sodexo.
Our brand portfolio includes Big G Cereals, Yoplait, Nature Valley, Gold Medal, Pillsbury, Chex Mix, Bugles, Gardetto’s and Annie’s.
A summer internship with the North America Foodservice Sales Segment of General Mills will provide you with real-world and hands-on Sales experience. We will position you to succeed with learning and development (L&D) opportunities, involvement in the business; balanced social/community focused activities and provide you with ongoing feedback for your personal and professional growth.
WHAT WILL I DO?
Your NAF Sales career will be built through a variety of different roles and assignments, each designed to build the depth and breadth needed to transform into a future Sales leader for General Mills.
Internship: 10-week summer experience at the World Headquarters (WHQ) in Minneapolis, MN that includes working on real and impactful projects in close interaction with leadership teams throughout the United States.
Onboarding and L&D experiences
1-week, enhanced intern orientation and sales training
Foundational selling skills and product knowledge through structured curriculum and immersive field experiences

Types of potential projects and exposure
Active engagement/ownership on a variety of Sales division projects, each designed to build understanding of our business and customers
Utilize business dynamics and analytical tools to provide solution-based insights to sell and influence decision-makers
Recommend core business strategies and receive hands-on experience internally and with customers
Work on business development, product introductions, category management, pricing and analytics
Build internal and external relationships through cross-functional projects, trade shows, mentorships, and diversity organizations
Presentation to senior leadership at the end of your internship
