Role Context
The Quality Specialist is responsible for protecting product quality across fresh grocery operations by monitoring inbound quality, packaging standards, and store handling procedures. This role helps improve customer trust, reduce waste, and strengthen supplier performance by ensuring strict food safety and operational quality standards across stores, hubs, and vendor locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect the quality of meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and other perishable products during inbound operations
* Review product quality across Amazon stores, hubs, and vendor locations to ensure compliance with quality standards
* Reject damaged, expired, or defective products back to vendors and record all rejection details accurately
* Monitor product quality during picking and packing activities performed by associates
* Ensure packaging standards are followed during handling and packing processes
* Perform daily audits of storage bins and maintain quality reporting for internal stakeholders
* Share daily and weekly audit reports with vendor managers, store managers, and operational teams
* Train store and hub associates on quality procedures, packaging standards, and operational SOPs
* Support process improvement initiatives to reduce damage, shrinkage, and product expiry
* Work closely with vendors and internal teams to improve quality consistency and customer satisfaction
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree required or strong practical experience in food quality operations
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work across all business levels
* Experience using Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel knowledge
* HACCP certification required
* PIC 3 Person In Charge certification approved by Dubai Municipality preferred
* Knowledge of ISO 22000 and GMP standards
* Strong understanding of fruits and vegetables quality specifications
* Familiarity with Dubai Fruit and Vegetable Market and Al Aweer Central Fruit Market preferred
* Strong attention to detail and reporting accuracy
* Ability to work weekends when required within standard weekly working hours
