Position Overview
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is seeking a Depot Operations Engineer to oversee and improve the performance of bus depots. The role involves supervising fuel supply and consumption, managing preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting operational efficiency. Core Duties
* Supervise fuel procurement, supply, and consumption in line with budget plans, maintaining strategic partnerships with suppliers
* Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with preventive and corrective maintenance schedules
* Identify mechanical issues affecting bus efficiency and recommend improvement plans
* Support depot budget preparation, implementation, and performance tracking
* Monitor depot KPIs, prepare self-assessment plans, and close departmental recommendations
* Contribute to reviewing vehicle specifications and requirements in bus engineering matters
* Develop and enforce depot health and safety procedures in line with RTA policies
* Conduct technical studies and benchmarks to improve operational processes and minimize troubleshooting rates
* Ensure availability and readiness of buses to meet daily trip schedules, verifying functionality of electronic and mechanical systems
* Provide technical support to depot management and prepare progress reports on project plans
* Remain available for emergencies and crises, including site visits when required
* Support individual performance planning and reviews for officers and supervisors
Candidate Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university
* Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, depot operations, and mechanical systems
* Experience in fuel management, asset utilization, and operational performance monitoring preferred
* Strong health and safety awareness with ability to enforce compliance standards
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to handle emergencies and support depot operations under pressure
