The role combines regional policy strategy with hands-on advocacy and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with Business, Regulatory, Legal, technical specialists, consultants, trade associations, and government stakeholders, the manager will help shape regulatory environments that support responsible deployment of satellite broadband services while advancing Amazon\'s broader public policy objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute public policy strategies supporting Amazon Leo across the Middle East and Africa.
* Lead advocacy campaigns addressing telecommunications, connectivity, spectrum, satellite, and space-related policy issues.
* Build and maintain relationships with national, regional, and multilateral policymakers.
* Manage engagement with government officials and senior political stakeholders across multiple markets.
* Work closely with Amazon Leo Business, Regulatory, and Legal teams to align public policy objectives with commercial and technical requirements.
* Translate technical satellite and telecommunications issues into clear policy positions and advocacy messages.
* Represent Amazon at conferences, policy forums, industry meetings, and external stakeholder discussions.
* Coordinate with consultants, trade associations, and other external organizations supporting regional advocacy initiatives.
* Monitor legislative, regulatory, and political developments affecting satellite connectivity and telecommunications.
* Assess proposed regulations and identify their potential operational and commercial implications.
* Develop briefing materials, talking points, policy papers, and stakeholder engagement plans.
* Prepare senior Amazon leaders for meetings with government officials and policy organizations.
* Engage multilateral and regional organizations where policy developments affect Amazon Leo objectives.
