Role Context

The Reservoir Engineer will provide specialist technical input across field development, reservoir management, production optimization, well planning, surveillance, and asset evaluation activities.

The position requires integration of geological, petrophysical, production, pressure, injection, and simulation data to understand reservoir behavior and identify opportunities for improved recovery. The engineer will guide reservoir management decisions that influence drilling priorities, workover schedules, production targets, injection strategy, and long-term field development.

The role also supports multidisciplinary decision-making by converting complex subsurface information into practical development and optimization recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform reservoir management activities covering field development, performance evaluation, asset assessment, well prognosis, and field integration.
* Provide reservoir engineering input to multidisciplinary field development plans.
* Evaluate reservoir behavior using production, injection, pressure, geological, and petrophysical information.
* Integrate dynamic and static reservoir data to improve understanding of fluid movement and field performance.
* Apply advanced reservoir engineering techniques to identify production and recovery optimization opportunities.
* Develop technical workflows for reservoir evaluation and field management in line with recognized industry practices.
* Assess reservoir and asset performance and recommend actions that improve profitable hydrocarbon recovery.
* Estimate and govern field production and injection capacities according to approved company objectives.
* Coordinate production and injection capacity planning with drilling and workover schedules.
* Identify potential shortfalls in production or injection capacity and develop practical mitigation options.
* Evaluate field constraints that could affect planned production targets.
* Develop workflows for pattern balancing to improve production and injection efficiency.
* Review injector and producer relationships to support effective reservoir pressure management.
* Lead well, sector, and full-field performance reviews.
* Identify underperforming reservoir sectors and investigate technical causes.
* Recommend well interventions, surveillance, drilling, or operating changes where reservoir performance can be improved.
* Lead reservoir surveillance program development and implementation.
* Design pressure transient survey programs to improve understanding of reservoir and well behavior.
* Develop tracer survey requirements where fluid movement or connectivity requires further evaluation.
* Plan and interpret interference testing used to assess communication between wells.
* Support selection and placement of observation wells for reservoir monitoring.
* Develop cased hole logging programs to obtain information required for reservoir management.
* Evaluate reservoir pressure, saturation movement, fluid contacts, and production trends using available surveillance data.
* Conduct or lead reservoir simulation studies to assess field development and recovery scenarios.
* Apply material balance methods where appropriate to estimate reservoir behavior and hydrocarbon volumes.
* Use decline curve analysis to evaluate well and field production performance.
* Compare simulation predictions with actual performance and update reservoir understanding where necessary.
* Support history matching and calibration of reservoir models using field surveillance information.
* Evaluate development scenarios using full-field simulation models.
* Assess production and injection forecasts under alternative development strategies.
* Provide reservoir engineering support for new well locations and well prognosis preparation.
* Participate in multidisciplinary discussions involving geology, geophysics, petrophysics, drilling, production technology, and operations.
* Communicate reservoir risks, uncertainties, assumptions, and recommended actions clearly to project stakeholders.
* Maintain technical documentation supporting reservoir studies, forecasts, surveillance programs, and development decisions.

Ideal Profile

The position requires a Bachelor\'s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.

Candidates should have at least 8 years of reservoir engineering experience covering oil and gas field development, reservoir management, and production performance evaluation.

Strong experience in full-field reservoir simulation studies is required, including practical use of reservoir modeling hardware and software environments.

The successful candidate should be capable of integrating static geological information with dynamic reservoir and production data to understand field behavior and identify optimization opportunities.

Practical knowledge of reservoir simulation, material balance, decline curve analysis, well performance evaluation, production forecasting, and injection management is essential.

Experience designing and interpreting reservoir surveillance programs involving pressure transient testing, tracer surveys, interference tests, observation wells, and cased hole logging will be highly valuable.

Candidates should demonstrate strong technical judgment, analytical ability, multidisciplinary coordination, and the ability to translate reservoir uncertainty into clear development recommendations.
