Role Context
The Admin Butchery role supports the operational control of meat and poultry products within the distribution center pick-pack process. The position ensures that butchery-related records, inventory updates, stock rotation, hygiene logs, and compliance documents remain accurate and up to date.
This role directly contributes to order accuracy, food safety, waste reduction, and product availability. It requires a practical understanding of warehouse processes, stock control, temperature-sensitive goods, and documentation standards used in grocery and food handling operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily administrative activities for the butchery section within the distribution center pick-pack workflow.
Support pick and pack activities by ensuring orders are processed accurately, safely, and within required timelines.
Record butchery inventory movements in the system, including receiving, transfers, wastage, adjustments, and stock updates.
Monitor meat and poultry stock levels and coordinate replenishment requirements with the DC Supervisor.
Track expiry dates, shelf life, product rotation, FIFO, and FEFO practices to maintain food safety and stock freshness.
Maintain complete documentation for butchery operations, including temperature logs, cleaning records, inspection sheets, and audit checklists.
Coordinate with operations teams to align butchery production and preparation with demand planning and sales requirements.
Ensure hygiene, food safety, handling procedures, and municipality requirements are followed inside the butchery area.
Support waste control by tracking shrinkage, damages, expired products, and variance records.
Prepare daily and weekly reports covering butchery performance, stock movement, wastage, and operational exceptions.
Assist during audits and inspections by keeping records, logs, and process documents ready for review.
Work with store operations, supply chain, quality, and warehouse teams to maintain a smooth and compliant workflow.
Complete additional administrative and operational tasks assigned by the DC Supervisor.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in warehousing, distribution center operations, food handling, inventory support, or a related grocery operations environment.
Experience in a butchery, meat handling, fresh food, poultry, supermarket, dark store, or food production setup will be an advantage.
The candidate should understand stock control, basic inventory systems, expiry tracking, FIFO, FEFO, hygiene standards, and documentation requirements for food-related operations.
This role suits someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with routine reporting, and able to work under pressure during high-volume operational hours.
Good communication skills in English are required to coordinate with supervisors, operations teams, quality teams, and cross-functional departments.
