Role Context
The Demand Planner will support Talabat Mart, talabat\'s
rapid grocery delivery operation, by ensuring stores carry the right quantity of inventory to meet expected customer demand without creating unnecessary excess stock.
The role combines forecasting, replenishment planning, inventory monitoring, supplier coordination, and parameter management. Accurate planning directly influences product availability, working capital, wastage, customer satisfaction, and the ability of stores to fulfill grocery orders reliably.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor inventory positions across stores and identify risks of out-of-stock or overstock situations.
* Analyze stock movement daily and review inventory adjustment reports for unusual variances.
* Maintain replenishment parameters within planning systems to support accurate automated ordering.
* Update lead times, reorder points, economic order quantities, supplier minimum order quantities, and other planning inputs.
* Prepare demand forecasts using historical sales, inventory trends, and expected business requirements.
* Initiate replenishment orders for stores based on forecast demand and available stock.
* Track purchase orders through receipt and investigate delays or quantity discrepancies.
* Coordinate inventory requirements with Category Managers to support assortment and commercial priorities.
* Review stock performance and recommend inventory adjustments based on changing demand patterns.
* Prepare timely inventory forecasts and purchase projections for relevant stakeholders.
* Dispatch purchase orders to suppliers and maintain clear tracking of outstanding deliveries.
* Liaise with suppliers to improve collaborative forecasting, planning, and replenishment processes.
* Identify recurring supplier or replenishment issues and support corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate records of in-stock levels, inventory positions, purchase requirements, and replenishment activity.
* Analyze inventory trends to highlight potential shortages, excess stock, or slow-moving items.
* Support initiatives aimed at improving forecast accuracy and stock availability.
