What You\'ll Do
Operating Theatre Preparation
* Prepare operating rooms before scheduled and emergency surgical procedures.
* Confirm that theatre equipment, surgical instruments, consumables, and supplies are available and functional.
* Arrange sterile instrument sets according to the planned procedure and surgeon requirements.
* Verify that medical devices have completed the required safety and operational checks.
* Ensure theatre surfaces and clinical areas meet infection-prevention standards.
* Coordinate with sterile services regarding instrument availability, processing, and replacement.
* Check emergency equipment and support readiness for unexpected clinical events.
* Report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment to the appropriate department.
* Help maintain an organised theatre schedule and minimise avoidable surgical delays.
Perioperative Patient Care
* Conduct nursing assessments before patients enter the operating theatre.
* Review relevant clinical records, consent documentation, allergies, and preoperative instructions.
* Confirm patient identity, planned procedure, and surgical site according to approved safety protocols.
* Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery.
* Provide clear explanations and reassurance within the nurse\'s authorised clinical scope.
* Protect patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
* Position patients safely to support the procedure and prevent pressure-related injury.
* Monitor patients throughout the perioperative period and report changes promptly.
* Support safe transfer to recovery or another designated clinical area after surgery.
* Deliver complete and accurate handovers to recovery-room and ward nursing teams.
Scrub and Circulating Nursing
* Perform scrub-nurse responsibilities during surgical procedures.

* Record the use of implants, specialised products, and chargeable consumables accurately.

Candidate Requirements
Education and Licensing
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent recognised nursing qualification.
* Current DHA Registered Nurse licence or DHA Eligibility Letter is mandatory.
* Current Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is preferred.
* Additional perioperative, theatre, or surgical nursing certification is advantageous.
* Eligibility to practise within the authorised nursing scope in Dubai.
Professional Experience
* Minimum two years of Operating Theatre nursing experience.
* Experience must have been gained in an acute-care hospital, day-surgery facility, or surgical centre.
* Previous scrub and circulating theatre nursing experience is preferred.
* Experience assisting with several surgical specialties is advantageous.
* Relevant specialties may include General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, and Day Surgery.
