Academic Advisor – Student Advisement and Academic Resources
New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor to support a diverse and dynamic student body. This role provides comprehensive academic advising, helping students navigate degree requirements, major selection, and academic policies while fostering student success through personalized guidance and institutional support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one academic advising, group sessions, and workshops for new and continuing students
- Assist students in course selection, degree planning, and registration processes
- Act as a liaison between students and university departments such as the Registrar, Global Education, and Student Well-being
- Support faculty and major mentors in student advisement
- Conduct academic advising workshops and webinars for incoming and current students
- Maintain student records, track degree progress, and conduct retention analysis
- Respond to student inquiries via email, drop-in sessions, and advising appointments
- Assist in the coordination of peer tutoring programs and academic support initiatives
- Develop promotional materials, newsletters, and website updates to communicate academic policies and resources
- Represent the advising office at university orientations and recruitment events
Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
- A bachelor\'s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related academic field (Master’s preferred)
Experience:
- Four to six years of progressive experience in academic advising or student services within a university setting
- Experience with academic advising theories and best practices
- Knowledge of university academic policies and procedures
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse student population
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information
- Excellent project coordination, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Flexibility to work collaboratively with global NYU campuses in New York and Shanghai
