Postdoctoral Associate – Data Analytics and Social Science Research
New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join a research team under the supervision of Professor Samreen Malik. This position focuses on research related to human capital development, climate, and sustainable development, involving both public and private sector collaborations in the UAE and beyond. The postdoctoral associate will play a key role in data analytics, research design, and fostering institutional partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct data analysis and research support on projects related to environmental impact, education, and social policies
- Develop and manage large-scale datasets, including data mining and database structuring
- Apply machine learning, artificial intelligence, and statistical modeling to research questions
- Provide data visualization support to enhance research communication
- Collaborate with UAE-based public and private entities to strengthen partnerships and present research findings
- Develop algorithms and coding solutions for social science research applications
- Conduct training and engage with graduate and undergraduate students on research projects
Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
- A PhD in Economics, Engineering, Computational Science, Statistics, Computational Social Science, or a related field
Experience:
- Strong programming skills in STATA, Python, and R
- Experience in data management, big data processing, and data visualization tools
- Background in machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in research
- Professional experience in research-driven projects, preferably in a university setting
Skills:
- Ability to translate complex research requirements into functional data solutions
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods and experimental research design
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a non-technical audience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
