Postdoctoral Associate – Robotics and Machine Learning

The Robot Learning and Control Laboratory at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a postdoctoral associate with expertise in robot control, machine learning, and differential geometry. This position focuses on developing advanced algorithms to enhance the safety and robustness of human-robot interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and learning from demonstration techniques to improve robotic adaptability and efficiency
- Design control algorithms that ensure passivity, Lyapunov stability, and safety in human-robot collaboration
- Enable robots to operate in complex, dynamic environments, including tasks involving deformable objects and uncertain conditions
- Create adaptive frameworks for safe and effective human-robot interaction in shared workspaces
- Integrate advanced machine learning, including Large Language Models, to enhance robotic decision-making and planning

Required Skills and Experience

Education:
- A PhD in Robotics, Control Theory, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field

- Research background in advanced control and learning algorithms
