Postdoctoral Associate – Wearable Medical Devices
The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge medical devices for real-world applications. This role will focus on engineering innovative solutions for diagnosing and treating metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurological diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead research in developing wearable medical devices, with a focus on a watch-type blood pressure monitoring system using ECG and PPG (or bio-impedance)
- Design and validate CMOS integrated circuits for biomedical applications
- Develop and optimize analog, power management, and biomedical circuits
- Implement embedded programming for microcontrollers with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
- Design printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Altium or Allegro
- Engage in preclinical experiments and optimization of device performance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams, including PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers
- Contribute to manuscript and grant proposal writing, as well as cross-disciplinary collaborations
Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
- A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a relevant field
Experience:
- Expertise in CMOS integrated circuit design and validation
- Proficiency in biomedical, analog, and power management circuits
- Strong experience in embedded programming for microcontrollers with BLE
- Hands-on experience in PCB board design using Altium or Allegro
- Prior work in wearable medical devices is preferred
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and technical writing abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment
