Role Context
This position supports the newly established NYUAD Wireless Research Center by advancing the physical layer design of future wireless communication systems. The selected researcher will contribute to groundbreaking work in 6G network development, new spectrum utilization, and intelligent communication systems that align with the UAE’s vision for global digital leadership and next-generation connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct advanced research on physical layer design for next-generation wireless communication systems
* Develop waveform design solutions for THz spectrum and FR3 bands under hardware constraints
* Design and optimize analog, digital, and hybrid beamforming techniques for high-frequency communication systems
* Support research involving reconfigurable intelligent surfaces and integrated sensing and communications
* Build mathematical models for signal transmission, reception, and wireless performance optimization
* Derive fundamental performance limits and create algorithm-level system designs
* Perform performance evaluation using computer simulations and experimental validation methods
* Publish research findings in high-impact IEEE journals and present at leading international conferences
* Contribute to patent development, intellectual property creation, and wireless standardization initiatives
Ideal Profile
* PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
* Candidates must be within the first five years after PhD completion
* Strong background in communication theory, signal processing, and wireless communications
* Proven academic publication record in IEEE journals and major international conferences
* Extensive experience in physical layer algorithm design and system performance analysis
* Prior research exposure in THz systems, beamforming, RIS, ISAC, or hardware-constrained wireless processing is highly preferred
