Role Context
This role supports advanced scientific discovery at the intersection of artificial intelligence and materials science. The selected researcher will lead independent projects focused on generative AI for materials innovation while collaborating with computational scientists and experimental researchers to accelerate smart materials development and future engineering applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead independent research projects involving generative AI for materials discovery and optimization
* Develop machine learning models to establish structure-property relationships for advanced materials
* Apply AI and ML techniques to study materials performance under extreme conditions
* Collaborate with researchers from the Smart Materials Lab and the Center for Smart Engineering Materials
* Coordinate closely with experimental scientists for validation of computational models and materials applications
* Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at international scientific conferences
* Support scientific workshops and interdisciplinary collaboration initiatives across research teams
* Assist in supervising undergraduate students and PhD researchers within laboratory projects
* Participate actively in additional strategic projects within the Smart Materials Lab
Ideal Profile
* PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline
* Candidates must be within the first five years after completion of PhD
* Strong expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning for scientific applications
* Proven experience in AI-driven materials discovery or generative AI related to materials research
* Strong academic publication record in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
* Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
