Postdoctoral Associate in Astrophysics and Space Science
The Center for Astrophysics and Space Science (CASS) at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to contribute to groundbreaking research in radiative transfer, proto-planetary discs, and galaxy spectra. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment with access to cutting-edge computational and observational facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in one or more of the following areas:
- Numerical simulation of radiative transfer
- Radiative transfer applications to proto-planetary discs
- Radiative transfer and spectra of galaxies
- Collaborate with researchers across astrophysics, astroparticle physics, and planetary science
- Utilize high-performance computing resources, including NYUAD’s 70,000-core Infiniband Cluster (Jubail) and GPU-based clusters
- Leverage NYUAD’s guaranteed observing time on the Green Bank Telescope, the Very Long Baseline Array, and Las Cumbres Observatory
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research at international conferences
Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
- A PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a closely related field
Experience:
- Strong background in astrophysical simulations and numerical modeling
- Prior experience in radiative transfer techniques is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and contribute to collaborative projects
Skills:
- Proficiency in computational methods for astrophysical research
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills
- Ability to engage with interdisciplinary research teams
