This position plays a critical role in developing next-generation infrastructure solutions through advanced engineering research. The selected candidate will contribute to high-value academic and technical projects focused on structural resilience, digital inspection technologies, additive manufacturing, and intelligent monitoring systems. The work directly supports innovation in safer and more sustainable infrastructure for future cities.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct high-quality independent and collaborative research in structural engineering and resilient infrastructure systems
* Support research involving structural 3D printing using concrete, metals, and composite materials
* Perform computational mechanics analysis, finite element simulation, and topology optimization studies
* Develop and improve vision-based structural health monitoring systems for infrastructure applications
* Participate in autonomous and drone-based inspection systems for vibration monitoring and asset assessment
* Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present work at international conferences
* Mentor undergraduate students and junior graduate researchers within laboratory and computational projects
* Assist in preparing research proposals, technical reports, and grant applications
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, materials science, and computer science
Ideal Profile
* PhD in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, or a closely related field
* Candidates should be within the first five years after PhD completion
* Strong academic publication record with peer-reviewed journal contributions
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical presentations and reporting
* Previous experience mentoring students or supervising junior researchers
* Additional exposure to machine learning, AI, robotics, computer vision, UAVs, or advanced manufacturing is highly valued
