Role Context
This position supports advanced engineering research within the Laboratory of Applied Nonlinear Dynamics by driving innovation in nonlinear mechanical systems and smart material behavior. The selected researcher will contribute to both computational and experimental investigations that improve the understanding of dynamic systems and support future engineering applications across academia and industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct computational and experimental research in nonlinear mechanics and related engineering fields
* Support projects involving machine learning applications for advanced mechanical systems
* Perform research in wave propagation, metamaterials, and fluid-structure interactions
* Develop simulation models and experimental validation methods for nonlinear dynamic systems
* Prepare high-quality manuscripts for publication in academic journals and international conferences
* Present research findings to academic collaborators, sponsors, and funding agencies
* Assist in the development of competitive research proposals for external funding opportunities
* Support day-to-day laboratory operations and research workflow management
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and applied science disciplines
Ideal Profile
* PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
* Candidates must be within the first five years after PhD completion
* Strong research background in nonlinear mechanics with both computational and experimental expertise
* Experience in machine learning, metamaterials, wave propagation, or fluid-structure interaction is highly preferred
* Strong scientific writing and academic publication record
* Excellent English communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
