Research Assistant – Neuroscience and Molecular Medicine

The Magzoub Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly motivated research assistant to contribute to the development of novel inhibitors targeting pathogenic protein self-assembly in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

Job Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Job Industry: Higher Education and Research
Job Function: Research and Development
Salary: Competitive

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on protein misfolding diseases and neurodegenerative disorders
- Develop and test inhibitors targeting protein self-assembly implicated in neurodegeneration
- Perform mammalian cell culture experiments and biochemical assays
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment
- Analyze data and contribute to research publications
- Participate in individualized research projects under faculty supervision

Required Skills and Experience

Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BSc or MSc) in a relevant field such as neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines

Experience:
- Research experience in neuroscience or protein misfolding diseases
- Experience in mammalian cell culture is highly desirable

Skills:
- Strong analytical and laboratory skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Excellent communication and scientific writing abilities
