Job Overview
As part of NYUAD’s advanced research efforts, the Research Associate will play a central role in the design and execution of innovative microfluidic systems for biomedical applications. The role requires multidisciplinary collaboration and a strong foundation in both experimental and computational microfluidics, as well as experience with bioassays, surface patterning, and 3D fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead research in polymer and paper-based microfluidic platforms for biosensing
* Design and develop systems for processing clinical samples such as blood and urine
* Integrate microfabrication, surface biochemical patterning, and 3D printing technologies
* Analyze data related to blood fractionation and other clinical sample assays
* Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including logistics and inventory
* Collaborate with a team of PhD researchers and supervise junior lab members
* Contribute to academic publications and research dissemination
Job Requirements
* Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
* At least 5 years of research experience in microfluidics or lab-on-chip technologies
* Strong background in microfabrication, biochemical surface modification, and 3D printing
* Proven ability in clinical sample handling, including blood analysis
* Experience with lab operations and logistics within UAE regulations
* Excellent English communication and technical writing skills
* Strong organizational and project management abilities
