Research Responsibilities
The Research Scientist will conduct advanced research within the Center of Cyber Security, with particular emphasis on systems security and privacy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conduct world-class research in systems security and privacy.
* Develop and investigate research questions in cyber security and related areas.
* Prepare research articles for publication.
* Publish research in leading conferences and academic journals.
* Collaborate closely with researchers at New York University in the United States.
* Work with external collaborators, including government entities and companies, on research initiatives.
* Apply advanced analytical, system design, and coding skills to security and privacy research.
* Contribute independently and collaboratively to the Center\'s research activities.
Student Research Supervision
The Research Scientist will contribute to developing research capability among students working with the Center.
Responsibilities include:
* Mentor PhD students involved in relevant research.
* Support master\'s students in developing research capabilities.
* Guide bachelor\'s students participating in research projects.
* Work with students to strengthen research methodology, technical skills, and scientific investigation.
Academic and Center Service
The position also contributes to the wider research activities of the Center of Cyber Security.
The Research Scientist may provide technical and administrative support for:
* Research workshops.
* Academic conferences.
* Competitions.
* Other Center activities and research events.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must have:
* PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with expertise in a security or privacy research topic.
* At least six years of relevant research experience in computer security, excluding time spent obtaining a PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
* Strong record of research and publications in recognized academic journals and conferences, or comparable research accomplishments.
* Excellent analytical skills.
* Strong design and coding capabilities.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to conduct research independently and contribute effectively within a team.
* Willingness to take initiative in research and collaborative activities.
