Job Overview
The Residential College Operations Manager (RCOM) manages housing assignments, transitions, facilities coordination, and guest policies while supporting undergraduate students in their on-campus living environment. This role includes extensive collaboration with departments such as Facilities, Public Safety, and Housing Services, along with participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation to manage emergencies and support student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage room assignments, Bed4Bed changes, and housing updates using StarRez and MOSES
* Lead student check-in and check-out processes, early arrivals, and room readiness coordination
* Enforce guest policy procedures and oversee housing logistics related to leaves or withdrawals
* Maintain and enhance student-facing communications including guides, timelines, and FAQs
* Coordinate with Facilities for maintenance, room inspections, storage, and PPM schedules
* Respond to student crises on-call, including medical, emotional, or housing-related incidents
* Collaborate with Residential Education staff to support student success and community health
* Supervise housing operations email inbox and develop strategic housing communications
Job Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree required (Student Affairs, Business, Counseling, or related fields)
* 2+ years of full-time experience in housing operations or student affairs in higher education
* Working knowledge of StarRez or similar housing management systems
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of discretion in managing sensitive student matters
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams
* Demonstrated leadership and team coordination abilities
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related discipline
* Prior experience working with diverse student groups or international student populations
* Familiarity with accommodation processes for accessibility or personal circumstances
