Senior Academic Appointments Partner

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Academic Appointments Partner to support the Office of Academic Appointments. This role provides essential administrative oversight for faculty, research, and academic staff evaluations, promotions, and recruitment processes, ensuring the academic success of faculty members within NYUAD’s Academic Divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Dean in all academic appointments activities, including faculty recruitment, reappointments, tenure, and promotions
- Interpret policies outlined in the NYU Faculty Handbook and NYUAD guidelines to provide guidance to academic staff
- Oversee academic hiring processes and facilitate onboarding and offboarding for faculty and research staff
- Liaise with relevant departments on research funding proposals, faculty compensation, external grants, and other funding matters
- Coordinate and monitor academic personnel actions, including performance evaluations, reclassification requests, and leave management
- Ensure compliance with compensation guidelines and troubleshoot payroll issues in collaboration with HR and Payroll teams
- Manage and maintain accurate employee records in Workday and other HRIS platforms
- Support the organization of faculty orientation programs and contribute to academic hiring plan development
- Continuously seek improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of academic appointment services
- Represent the Academic Division in internal and external meetings, discussions, and search committees

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of HR or academic administration experience in higher education
- Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws and HR policies within an academic setting
- Excellent writing, communication, and consultation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications
