Role Context
Effective outpatient care depends on coordinated clinical support before, during, and after consultations and procedures. The Assistant Nurse will help prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas while supporting medical and dental professionals in delivering safe and efficient services.
The role will contribute directly to patient comfort, infection prevention, accurate clinical documentation, and the smooth operation of the International City clinic. Careful monitoring, responsive assistance, and professional communication will help create a positive experience for every patient.
Key Responsibilities
The position will provide practical nursing assistance across medical consultations, dental services, and outpatient procedures.
* Assist physicians, dentists, and nursing colleagues during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
* Measure, monitor, and record patient vital signs accurately.
* Support patient assessments and help prepare individuals for clinical examinations.
* Provide chairside and procedural assistance within the employee\'s training and approved scope.
* Perform venepuncture, blood collection, blood glucose monitoring, and IV cannulation where trained and authorized.
* Assist with ECG procedures, wound care, and dressing changes.
* Prepare clinical equipment, instruments, supplies, and treatment areas.
* Follow infection-prevention procedures across medical and dental services.
* Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality, privacy, comfort, and safety.
* Complete accurate clinical documentation and update medical records promptly.
* Monitor clinical stock and report supply requirements to the responsible team member.
* Clean, organize, and prepare reusable equipment according to approved procedures.
* Communicate clearly with patients and provide appropriate support throughout their visit.
* Participate in clinical governance, mandatory training, and professional development activities.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a valid DHA Assistant Nurse license or be eligible to obtain DHA licensing. At least two years of experience in a clinic, outpatient department, medical center, or other healthcare facility is required.
Previous dental clinic experience is highly desirable, particularly exposure to chairside assistance and dental infection-control procedures. Candidates should also be comfortable supporting physicians and multidisciplinary teams while managing varied clinical responsibilities.
Fluent English communication is required, while Nepali language skills would be a strong advantage. The successful candidate will demonstrate compassion, professionalism, organization, interpersonal confidence, and a consistent focus on patient safety.
