The Consultant Breast Radiologist will provide expert diagnostic and procedural breast imaging services for patients requiring screening, evaluation,
Key Responsibilities
* Perform and interpret mammograms, breast ultrasounds, breast MRIs, 3D mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, and related diagnostic breast imaging studies.
* Conduct image-guided breast procedures including core biopsies, fine needle procedures, vacuum-assisted biopsy support, and needle localizations where clinically appropriate.
* Provide accurate, timely, and clinically relevant imaging reports to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans for patients with benign, suspicious, or malignant breast conditions.
* Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary case discussions, breast cancer pathway reviews, and clinical decision-making meetings.
* Provide consultations to referring physicians, surgeons, oncologists, gynecologists, and other healthcare professionals regarding breast imaging findings.
* Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients when explaining imaging processes, procedural steps, expected outcomes, and follow-up needs.
* Maintain high standards of patient confidentiality, informed consent, ethical practice, and culturally sensitive care.
* Support breast screening programs, diagnostic pathways, and quality assurance processes within the radiology department.
* Mentor junior radiologists, residents, technologists, and clinical staff involved in breast imaging services.
* Contribute to continuous quality improvement, audit activities, protocol optimization, reporting accuracy, and patient safety initiatives.
* Stay updated with advancements in breast radiology, mammography technology, MRI protocols, digital breast tomosynthesis, biopsy techniques, and evidence-based imaging standards.
* Maintain complete documentation including imaging reports, procedure notes, consent records, biopsy documentation, communication records, and follow-up recommendations.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized institution.
* Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology with subspecialty training in Breast Imaging.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Breast Radiologist.
* Western education or training is required.
* UAE license or eligibility for licensing is preferred.
* Fluent Arabic and English communication skills are required.
* Strong proficiency in 3D mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and diagnostic breast imaging interpretation.
* Experienced in image-guided breast procedures including biopsies and needle localizations.
* Strong background in multidisciplinary breast care, tumor board participation, and collaboration with oncology and surgical teams.
* Excellent reporting accuracy, diagnostic judgment, communication, and patient-centered care skills.
* Committed to confidentiality, ethical practice, patient safety, continuous quality improvement, and evidence-based radiology standards.
