Role Context
The Consultant - Breast Radiology will provide expert diagnostic and procedural breast imaging services within a leading hospital environment in Dubai. The role includes mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, digital breast tomosynthesis, biopsies, needle localizations, and consultation support for referring physicians. Working with oncology, surgery, pathology, and multidisciplinary teams, the consultant will help ensure timely diagnosis, accurate reporting, and coordinated care for patients with breast conditions.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform and interpret mammograms, breast ultrasounds, breast MRI studies, 3D mammography, and digital breast tomosynthesis examinations.
* Conduct image-guided breast procedures, including biopsies, needle localizations, and related diagnostic interventions.
* Provide accurate, timely, and clinically useful breast imaging reports to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
* Collaborate with breast surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, radiographers, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans.
* Participate in tumor boards, complex case reviews, and multidisciplinary breast care discussions.
* Provide expert consultation to referring physicians regarding imaging findings, diagnostic pathways, and recommended next steps.
* Maintain high standards of patient confidentiality, ethical practice, radiation safety, and patient-centered communication.
* Support patients during breast imaging and biopsy procedures with clear explanations, reassurance, and professional care.
* Mentor junior radiologists, radiographers, and clinical staff involved in breast imaging services.
* Contribute to quality improvement activities, audit programs, imaging protocol optimization, and continuous service development.
* Maintain accurate procedural records, imaging reports, consent documentation, and follow-up recommendations in line with hospital standards.
* Stay updated with advances in breast imaging, interventional breast radiology, cancer screening, and diagnostic technology.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized institution.
* Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology with subspecialty training in Breast Imaging.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Breast Radiologist.
* Western education or training is required.
* Fluent Arabic and English communication skills are required.
* UAE license or eligibility for consultant licensing is preferred.
* Strong expertise in mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, 3D mammography, and digital breast tomosynthesis.
* Proven experience performing image-guided breast biopsies, needle localizations, and diagnostic breast interventions.
* Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary breast care teams, oncology services, surgical teams, and referring physicians.
* Excellent reporting accuracy, communication skills, patient care approach, and clinical judgment.
