Role Context
The Consultant Breast Surgeon will provide specialist surgical care for patients with benign and malignant breast conditions, including breast cancer, high-risk lesions, and reconstruction needs. The role requires strong clinical judgment, Arabic communication skills, careful pre-operative planning, and close coordination with oncology, radiology, pathology, and surgical teams to deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage breast-related conditions, including benign tumors, malignant tumors, breast cancer, and complex breast disease presentations.
* Perform advanced breast surgery procedures, including mastectomy, lumpectomy, breast-conserving surgery, and reconstructive procedures.
* Support oncologic breast care through accurate assessment, surgical planning, staging support, and multidisciplinary treatment coordination.
* Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, plastic surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals to create comprehensive care plans.
* Provide pre-operative consultation, risk discussion, consent guidance, and clear patient education in Arabic and English where required.
* Manage post-operative recovery, wound care, complication monitoring, follow-up planning, and long-term surgical outcomes.
* Use minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques where clinically appropriate and available.
* Educate patients on treatment options, recovery expectations, preventive care, screening awareness, and ongoing breast health management.
* Stay updated with advances in breast surgery, oncology care, reconstruction techniques, and evidence-based surgical practice.
* Maintain accurate medical records, operative notes, follow-up documentation, and regulatory compliance across all patient care activities.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Board certification in General Surgery with specialization or focused expertise in Breast Surgery.
* Minimum 5-10 years of experience in breast surgery.
* Strong experience in oncologic breast procedures and reconstructive breast surgery.
* Fluent Arabic communication skills, both spoken and written, are essential.
* Western medical training is preferred.
* Skilled in working with multidisciplinary cancer care teams and complex surgical pathways.
