Role Context
The Consultant Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist is responsible for providing specialized interventional cardiac care to pediatric patients, ensuring precise diagnosis, advanced procedural treatment, and long-term management of congenital and acquired heart diseases.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform advanced pediatric cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures including ASD, VSD, and PDA closures
* Conduct balloon valvuloplasty, angioplasty, stenting, and complex congenital interventions
* Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiac care for pediatric patients
* Interpret echocardiography, ECG, Holter monitoring, and advanced cardiac imaging
* Participate in multidisciplinary cardiac case discussions and surgical planning
* Provide on-call support for pediatric cardiac emergencies
* Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists, and neonatology teams
* Contribute to clinical governance, protocol development, and quality improvement initiatives
* Mentor junior doctors, fellows, and clinical staff
* Engage in research, teaching, and academic activities
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with specialization in Pediatric Cardiology
* Board certification in Pediatric Cardiology from a recognized authority
* Fellowship training in Interventional Pediatric Cardiology
* Minimum 5–10 years of post-fellowship experience in high-volume cardiac centers
* Strong expertise in interventional procedures and complex case management
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Eligibility for SCFHS or equivalent licensing authority
* Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
