Role Context
The Consultant Dermatologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a broad range of skin, hair, and nail disorders while supporting preventive skin health and cosmetic treatment services. This role contributes directly to patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, and the development of specialized dermatology services within a modern healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat acute and chronic dermatological conditions for adult and pediatric patients
* Perform dermatologic procedures including laser treatments, cryotherapy, biopsies, and minor skin surgeries
* Deliver cosmetic dermatology services based on patient needs and approved clinical scope
* Assess skin cancers, inflammatory skin diseases, pigmentation disorders, and allergic skin reactions
* Work closely with internal medicine, oncology, plastic surgery, and other specialties for integrated care
* Maintain detailed and compliant patient records using hospital clinical systems
* Participate in audits, quality improvement programs, and clinical governance activities
* Support medical education, mentoring, and supervision of junior doctors and clinical staff
* Stay updated with advancements in dermatology treatments and evidence-based practice
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with recognized specialization in Dermatology
* Board Certification or equivalent qualification in Dermatology
* Minimum 5 years of Consultant-level post-specialization experience
* Fluent in Arabic and English with strong patient communication skills
* Experience within GCC healthcare systems is highly preferred
* Strong clinical decision-making and patient-centered treatment approach
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
