Role Context
The Consultant Dermatologist will provide specialist care for patients with a wide range of skin, hair, and nail conditions while supporting high standards of diagnosis, treatment planning, patient education, and clinical safety. The position requires strong dermatology knowledge, procedural confidence, and the ability to work with healthcare teams to manage both routine and complex skin health concerns.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat common and complex dermatology conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, pigmentation concerns, infections, and skin cancer.
* Perform complete skin examinations, clinical assessments, biopsies, and follow-up reviews for patients requiring specialist dermatology care.
* Deliver approved dermatology treatments such as chemical peels, laser therapy, phototherapy, and other advanced skin procedures.
* Create personalized treatment plans based on each patient\'s condition, medical history, skin type, lifestyle, and long-term care needs.
* Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
* Stay updated with new dermatology research, treatment techniques, safety standards, and evidence-based clinical practices.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for patients with complex skin conditions or wider medical concerns.
* Educate patients on skin care routines, preventive measures, medication use, sun protection, and long-term skin health.
* Train, guide, and supervise resident physicians, nurses, and clinical support staff involved in dermatology services.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation, procedure notes, consent records, and treatment plans in line with healthcare standards.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Board certification in Dermatology or an equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Dermatologist.
* Western education or training is required.
* Strong knowledge of medical dermatology, skin cancer assessment, inflammatory skin disease, and advanced treatment options.
* Skilled in dermatology procedures, patient consultation, biopsy techniques, and non-surgical skin treatments.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, professional, and empathetic approach.
* Strong leadership ability with experience supervising clinical staff, residents, or nursing teams.
